Welcome to CEP for 2020 and another dynamic year in rural and remote education communities.
We are looking forward to working with you and for you this year.
CEP understands the severity of bushfires and the impact of these fires on many school communities, particularly those in East Gippsland and North East Victoria. We acknowledge the incredible role principals and their staff play in their school supporting staff and students and their families during this time.
We also recognise the experience they are able to offer to the wider community during these challenging times.
CEP will consult with you further about how we can best support principals, staff and students, and their wider community in these areas through advocacy and practical support.
CEP has a great team and is extremely well supported by the Committee of Management (CoM) and the CEP Executive.
The Committee of Management has settled our priorities for 2020 and we intend to continue our focus on: rural learning provision; workforce development and growth; education leadership cluster development; and nurturing aspirations for rural youth.
We look forward to reporting on our work so keep an eye out for the new CEP website (www.cep.org.au) where there will be an opportunity to share information and feedback through our newly developed online forums.
CEP has regular opportunities to advocate to government and the Department of Education and Training and Catholic Education Office on your behalf and we are always very pleased to hear from you about your particular needs as well as your ideas about how we can improve our delivery.
All the very best for 2020!
Helen Clarke
