Over the next month there are three fantastic events for people in rural education communities to consider: the CEP Rural Learning Summit, VicSRC Congress and the Parents Victoria Conference.
Rural Learning Summit
To be held on Friday, 12th August in Glenormiston College. The focus of this summit is “engaging and retaining rural young people in learning”. The Summit will provide the opportunity for people to “analyse, listen and explore”.
More information on the Summit is available on the Rural Summit 2011 page
Congress is the primary decision making event for the Victorian Student Representative Council (VicSRC) and provides an opportunity for students from across the state to voice their concerns and ideas, learn from over 80 other SRC representatives and set the VicSRC’s agenda for the next 12 months.
We are very happy to announce that the Minister for Education, the Hon Martin Dixon, will be attending Congress in 2011 to meet students from across Victoria and to hear about what issues matter to them.
Congress will operate from 5th – 7th August and be held in Mt Evelyn
For more information and registrations see the VicSRC 2011 Congress website
Parents Victoria Conference
The conference will be held on the 16th and 17th August at the Melbourne Zoo. With the theme “It’s a Jungle Out There” the conference will provide a great opportunity for parents to come together and explore issues relevant to education. A number of guest presenters including George Otero, Andrew Fullar and Dave O’Neill will address the conference.
