Calling all inspired, rural and remote educators– this is the one for you.
The Country Education Partnership (CEP) is pleased to offer a one-day forum for all people involved in rural and remote cluster initiatives, or those interested in forming a cluster to provide education within their community into the future.
To be held on Wednesday, February 28, the forum will be facilitated by one of the United Kingdom’s most highly-regarded Executive Head Teachers, Marie Claire Bretherton.
Ms Bretherton has earned praise across the UK for her work facilitating enhanced learning provisions for students within the Lincolnshire KYRA Teaching School Alliance – a cluster of rural schools.
Under the guidance of Ms Bretherton, the KYRA Alliance has successfully rolled-out a range of targeted programs to enhance student learning outcomes, while also building the capacity of educators through collaborative approaches.
Recently the KYRA has become one of five UK education communities as a “Research School” in partnership with Education Endowment Foundation and the Institute of Effective Education, leading the initiative across the Lincolnshire and East Midlands regions.
The forum will explore a range of areas that have contributed to the KYRA success, including:
Aspirational and collegiate leadership
- Developing a strong collaboration at a grass-roots level
- Creating a sense of ownership of the cluster
- Student aspirations and leadership
- Building workforce capacity
- The power of partnering with universities and the not-for-profit sector
CEP Executive Officer Phil Brown says the forum supports Country Education Partnerships focus on supporting collaborative approaches to education provision and the ambition to positively grow Victoria’s school cluster footprint.
“Clustering has been a key element of rural education in Victoria for some time and we know it works,” Mr Brown said.
“The key now is to continue building on what we’ve already achieved with new ideas and new perspectives, which this forum will undoubtedly achieve.”
