Teach Rural Yarrawonga Placements

CEP’s Teach Rural program places PST’s in rural communities to complete their placements. The program has had extremely positive reviews from PST’s with a few choosing to do a second rural placement and some choosing to stay on in the schools and communities where they completed their placements. Below we hear about some of the PST’s placement experience in Yarrawonga P-12.

“Placement has been great so far. Originally I applied for CEP as I was struggling to find an education setting accepting students within my area and financially it wasn’t an option to complete one away from home. I’m grateful for the opportunities CEP has provided and also surprised at how the program has exceeded my expectations. I have made great friends in the house and we have supported each other in various aspects. I look forward to what’s to come in the following weeks and have no doubt I will have a great end to my placement.”

“The placement in Yarrawonga has been such a wonderful opportunity to experience life and teaching in a regional setting. The staff and CEP team have been incredibly helpful and supportive, and I feel as if I have had a great chance to improve my teaching and learn the ins and outs of the profession. It truly is such a different experience from other schools, but one that has been incredibly rewarding. A huge thank you to the CEP team for their hard work in making this happen, we are very grateful!”

“Placement is going better than I could have ever imagined! Right from the start when I applied to Teach Rural everything has been taken care of which has helped tremendously. From the moment I arrived I was impressed by how big and luxurious our accommodation was. With the final student arriving a few days after me it wasn’t long before we all got to know each other and spent time together at the local pub, sitting down for dinners together and even began taking afternoon walks together along the picturesque lake which is our backyard. I’m looking forward to this week’s trip on the Cumberoona – Lake Mulwala’s Boat Cruise as well as our dinner at the Sebel with our mentor teachers. I definitely believe I’ll walk away from this experience with not only lifelong memories but also some lifelong friends. “
