What is the Rural Youth Ambassador Program?
The Rural Youth Ambassador program is a specific program focused on Year 11 students, and forms part of the Rural Inspire initiative aimed at broadening the aspirations of young people in rural and remote communities and is supported by the Commonwealth Government.
We are pleased to have the great support of the Department of Education in New South Wales, South Australia and Victoria to ensure that the expansion of Rural Inspire, and more specifically the Rural Youth Ambassador program, is successful across the three states.
The Rural Youth Ambassador program has been operating extremely successfully in three states during 2020 and recently culminated at a National Forum held in Canberra. Read more about the national forum here: https://cep.org.au/rya-student-voice-in-canberra/
A Project Officer engaged through the Country Education Partnership will oversee the development and implementation of the 2021 Rural Youth Ambassadors program and, in consultation with past Rural Youth Ambassadors, will oversee the selection of the participants for this year.
