Rural Youth Ambassadors Host Education Officials at Beaufort Secondary College

On Monday the 29th of May, our Rural Youth Ambassadors, Lockie, Jet and Praneel from Beaufort Secondary College welcomed senior Education Department officials to their school. Department Secretary, David Howes, Regional Director, Chris Thompson and  Central Highlands Area Director, Jen McCrabb, spent the day visiting a number of rural schools in Western Victoria.

Our Ambassadors were delighted at the opportunity to accompany the visitors on a tour of the school and share their experiences as students. Lockie, Jet and Praneel also had the opportunity to discuss their current involvement with the Rural Youth Ambassadors program. They shared their thoughts about why they wanted to become Youth Ambassadors, the many experiences they had at the first Forum and what kind of projects they would like to undertake in their community. It was a wonderful opportunity for our Ambassadors and feedback from our visitors was extremely positive.

Our next Ambassadors Forum will be held between the 12th and 14th of July in Melbourne and all our Ambassadors can’t wait to get together again. We also wish to thank Karl Schier, Principal at Beaufort Secondary College, and his entire team for their gracious and welcoming hospitality.
