Future Focus
To support teachers and schools with improving teaching and learning of literacy and numeracy, the Academy has a new program on offer – Future Focus.
Future Focus will be facilitated by Dr Simon Breakspear, a researcher, policy advisor and speaker on education policy, practice and change.

Leading by Learning has been designed to help school leaders deal with issues while building trust.
Learn more ways to create high quality conversations to help navigate and progress problems of practice.
The theory and practice for Leading by Learning have been developed by distinguished Professor Viviane Robinson.

Leading through Conflict
Delivered in partnership with Dispute Settlement Centre Victoria, Leading through Conflict enables participants to confidently manage challenging behaviour in school and strengthen understandings of conflict.
This 2-day course explores decision-making paradigms, develops negotiation skills and extends participants’ ability to safely deal with complex conflicts.

Rethink Resistance
Join Dr Simon Breakspear to ‘Rethink Resistance’ and explore what psychological research suggests is the best way to respond to conflict and resistance to change.
In this 4-hour virtual masterclass on Thursday 24 November you will examine the main challenges of adult behavioural change and learn how to apply practical strategies for improvement.

Unlocking Potential: Principal Preparation
Realise leadership potential and develop professional knowledge, capabilities and confidence to lead for learning in ways that influence student outcomes, collective efficacy, and schoolwide improvement.
Unlocking Potential: Principal Preparation equips aspiring principals with practical learning processes, strategies, and tools for leadership, and includes the opportunity to work alongside an experienced mentor principal.
Applications close 8 and 9 October 2022. Course begins 28 February and 21 March 2023, respectively.

The Academy’s Assistant Principal Mentoring program provides expert guidance to help succeed in the assistant principal role.
With access to 8 hours of mentoring over 12 months, learn practical techniques for managing day-to-day responsibilities effectively while meeting the needs of students, parents, teachers, and other staff members.
Principal Mentoring
Use the expertise and experience of a mentor to help develop leadership skills, inspire change, and achieve goals.
The Academy’s Principal Mentoring Program is a great opportunity for teachers who want to expand and enhance their leadership capability.
Over 9 months, participants can access 12 hours of mentoring, either online or via telephone.
