The 2018 Energy Breakthrough (EB) is upon us!
To be held in Maryborough from November 22 to 25, EB offers the perfect mash of high-energy action and cutting-edge science, all centred on enhancing the learning of young people.
For competitors, it’s the culmination of months of team work, dedication, learning and attention to detail.
And for organisers, it’s much the same.
Would you believe it takes more than 700 volunteers to make EB memorable, safe and successful?
Just like any community event, there’s no THRILLS without an army of happy helpers.
CAN YOU HELP ???
Education Leader Nigel Preston says in 2018 its hoped many fresh faces will join the EB Army.
“The Energy Breakthrough is an incredibly unique, fun and empowering event for everyone involved, and that’s especially the case for our volunteers,” he said.
“There’s an absolute plethora of different roles that need to be filled in order to run the event; as the saying goes, we do truly have ‘something for everyone’.”
To help volunteers better understand the roles required, organisers have begun a series of online briefing sessions (see clip below).
“At this stage, our greatest volunteering needs are on the Thursday, Friday and Saturday of the event,” Mr Preston said.
“In particular, we are seeking people who can sit on our judging panels and we need people with plenty of energy to help marshal and judge our pushcart event.
“We implore anyone who wants to be involved to jump on our website and register so that, together, we can make this year’s EB the best one yet.”
