Date Confirmed – Lock it in!
The 2018 Energy Breakthrough Challenge (EB) has not long finished but there’s no time to rest, with planning underway for next year’s edition.
Co-ordinating partners, the Central Goldfields Shire Council (CGSC) and the Country Education Partnership (CEP), have confirmed the event will roll back into Maryborough in 2019, from November 21 to 24. (Get it in your diary!)
EB Education Officer Nigel Preston says he hopes many new schools will come on board in 2019.
“We had a number of new schools this year and we’d love to see even more next year,” Mr Preston said.
“I think it’s well-known that registrations for this event are highly competitive — the spots fill in a flash, it’s crazy — but we always do our best to accommodate new schools because we are determined to consistently grow the EB footprint.”
This year’s event was the first to be staged without a major sponsor in 26 years.
Mr Preston concedes this change created some anxiety among competitors about the event’s future but he’s adamant there’s nothing to worry about.
“Yes, we’ve had plenty of queries from schools about this and I want to make it very clear, EB is here to stay,” Mr Preston said.
