The Rural Educators Network facilitates partnerships between rural education clusters and universities aimed to:
- enhance the learning already being provided within the cluster
- enhance the learning of final year pre service teachers of rural education provision through a “real life” experience.
- utilise the expertise and knowledge within cluster schools and universities to support pre service teachers learning and enhance the learning of students within the clusters.
- provide professional development for rural clusters
- provide the opportunity for research
Over the past three years, the Network has brokered a number of partnerships involving rural clusters and teacher training universities.
The partnerships have involved:
- in excess of 250 pre service teachers
- 16 rural cluster across all DEECD regions and CEO diocese
