Supporting rural new graduates is the third area of focus within CEPs Rural Educators Network.
Rural new graduates often find themselves being the only new graduate within their rural community and are looking for the opportunity to access support services and the chance to talk to other new graduates.
CEP has developed a number of strategies aimed at supporting these new graduates within their rural communities.
Web based Rural New Graduate Forum
CEP has established a web based support network for rural new graduates. This online network provides a range of services including a forum, chat facility, resource area, and a reference section for sharing good practice.
In addition, mentors provide support and advice online for the new graduates.
Rural new graduates interested in joining this valuable online network just need to join the CEP community, then request membership for the Rural Graduates Group
Rural New Graduate Survey
To gain a greater understanding of the issues facing new graduates within a rural education community, CEP undertakes a state-wide online survey for new graduates within these communities each year.

State-wide Forum for Education Support Personnel
CEP brings all those responsible in DEECD regional offices and CEO Diocese offices together to share what support they provide for new graduates within rural school communities as well as explore the issues and challenges identified within the Rural New Graduate Survey.
These forums identify strategies and initiatives that could be implemented to provide enhanced support for rural new graduates.
