A Word from the Chair of CEP

2011 has been a full year for our organisation. The Energy Breakthrough event recently held in Maryborough always demonstrates the effectiveness of partnerships working towards a set goal. The success of this annual event is dependent on not one single identity but rather through the collaborative way in which the broader context of schools, communities and the enormous goodwill of so many volunteers.

In a recent speech the Minister for Education, the Hon. Martin Dixon, MP spoke about School–Community integration. That shared responsibility of schools working with parents and the local communities towards enhancing the learning opportunities of students are a powerful and visible message offered.

In this light we would also like to celebrate the recognition of a great achievement of one of our rural schools. Congratulations to Tyrrell College, who were recently announced as the National Winner of the Schools First Award in recognition of quality school community partnerships.

December is a busy month in schools- reports being finalised, end of year celebrations and forward planning for the year ahead being completed. It is also the time in which we need to acknowledge the achievements that have contributed to those markers of success for the schools throughout rural Victoria.

Thank you for all the dedication given to ensuring that rural students are receiving quality learning opportunities within their rural communities.

May you all have a safe and blessed Christmas shared with family and friends, and we look forward to working with you, and offering our support throughout 2012.

    Dear CEP,

I contacted you over the Christmas break, so this is just a follow up (so I do hope that you have returned to work?)

I am proposing a partnership with CEP and my production company, Soul Theatre Incorporated as we are educating society about the seriousness of the Climate Change Crisis. The rural communities are one of the communities that Climate Change has the most damaging affects.

I am aware of this since I originate from South Gippsland. (Where the farm overlooks Wilson’s Promontory plus Tarwin Lower; and we have had farms in the Mallee and East Gippsland, near Dargo.)
Hence my request to partner our two organisations.

    Further details of mine are (03) 9481 2626 or 0425 728 427 or alicia@soultheatre.org.au.

Wishing you all a WONDERFUL 2012 and all the very best with CEP’s continued great work!

    Lots of Love and Peace,

    Alicia Liley.
