eKids Science

A group of nine rural primary schools are participating in an exciting digital learning program for around 120 upper primary school students. These students will be involved in elluminate sessions, online classroom activities, class discussions through a secure social network environment, and link into guest presenters from Scienceworks, Bugs Blitz and the like.

This program, which will focus on science, has been developed by ten great primary school staff who will provide a learning program in an area of expertise. They will share this through a range of online learning tools to the students from across the nine schools. The activities will focus on static electricity, food, machines, forensic science, bugs, forces without contact, wind and windmills, and the human body.

Schools who are involved in the program come from Loch Sport, Seaspray, Elphinstone, Beeac, Cressy, Boort, Wycheproof, Alexandra and Ultima.

“This is a great idea and it gives my kids the opportunity to become involved in learning activities that we may not have been able to provide within our own school” School principal.

CEP Inc is hoping that the learnings from this project will be used to explore the provision of learning through digital approaches in other areas such as LOTE, numeracy, etc.
